A care home in North London became what is believed to be the first to close due to issues caused by coronavirus.
Friary Lodge in Barnet has reportedly written to residents asking them to move out by the end of the month, citing “ongoing staffing issues and operational difficulties due to Covid-19”.
The home is temporarily closing, with residents being moved to alternative accommodation.
According to ITV News, the home told residents: “It is no longer possible to provide you with care and support that you need because of ongoing staffing issues and operational difficulties due to Covid-19.”
Mary Masters, 91, moved from the home on Monday and was “very sad”, her daughter Susan told ITV.
Susan said her “biggest concern” was that she might “lose” her mother because of the move.
