With Euro 2020 in its final stage, it’s been great to watch the games in actual pubs and bars. What joy to be back watching football with pints and friends.
We have been treated to some excellent games, including England defeating Germany in the knockouts, England’s semi-final against Denmark and we’ve got the best match to come: the England vs. Italy final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 11 June.
With England through to the finals, and set to play Italy on Sunday, there’s no better place to watch the game than in one of these big screen venues.
Trafalgar Square in London will be screening the final – but tickets will be allocated by a random ballot. If you’re looking to be immersed in the full atmosphere, you can try secure two from the Fan Zone website. Be quick though – the ballot closes at 10am on Friday 9 July.
But if you’re more suited to watching with a pint at a bar or pub, here are our picks of the best venues to watch the action and enjoy a good meal or drink while we’re at it…
The Coppermill Pub, Walthamstow, London
A traditional pub set in north east London, The Coppermill is the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere of the final. Serving up classic pub grub and a wide selection of ales, beers, lagers and ciders, this a great pick for anyone heading East this weekend.
The Coppermill Pub has not been taking table bookings for any of the Euro 2020 games – including all the England games. So it’s good news for anyone who’s without a guaranteed spot on Sunday. There are screens dotted around indoors, as well as in the garden and the benches advised but customers are advised to turn up early as all pub tables are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
